Food labels
If you are confused by food labels you are not alone, but they can be useful to help us make better informed choices.
Most food and drinks now have traffic light labels on their packs, using red, amber and green colours to help us understand how much fat, sugar and salt are in each.
We should aim for food and drinks which show more greens and ambers, rather than reds.
These labels will also tell you how many calories are contained in a food or drink portion. It is important to take note of the portion size, as it is not always the calorie size you expect it to be.
The Change 4 Life website explains more about food labels and offers an App that you can use when doing your shopping to help you make better choices. For further information click here.
