Apple and strawberry crumble
Ingredients
- 3 eating apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 150g strawberries, washed
- 2 tablespoons water
- 25g sugar
- 125g plain white flour
- 75g margarine or butter
- 50g porridge oats
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Method
Heat the oven to 190 C/Gas Mark 5
Cook the apples and strawberries with the water in a saucepan until soft (a pinch of cinnamon can be added for extra taste), place in an ovenproof baking dish.
Rub the flour, margarine and sugar together until they are like breadcrumbs (alternatively put in a food processer and whizz for 15 seconds), add the oats and put the mixture on top of the fruit.
Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes.
Note. This recipe can work with a variety of fruit, why not try pear, Peach, other berries, pear, rhubarb, oranges, pineapple, banana etc. The only limit is your imagination!
