Tuna pie
Ingredients
- ¼ onion, finely chopped
- 150ml milk
- 30g grated cheese
- 2 tablespoons sweetcorn (drained)
- 1 teaspoon cornflour
- Small tin of tuna flakes (in water, drained)
- 1 large potato, peeled and cubed
Method
Set oven to 180◦C/Gas mark 4
Put onions in a saucepan, cover with water and cook until tender. Add 150ml milk to the onions and stir, add the grated cheese and sweetcorn and keep stirring.
Mix the cornflour with a splash of milk in a cup and then add to the saucepan while stirring, stir continually until the sauce begins to thicken then turn down the heat. Add the tuna flakes to the sauce and cook for 10 minutes over a moderate heat.
Cook cubes of peeled potato in boiling water until soft. Drain the potatoes and mash with a splash of milk, pepper can be added if desired.
Pour the tuna sauce mix into the bottom of an ovenproof dish, top with the potato and place in the oven for 10 minutes until the top is crispy.
