Spaghetti bolognaise
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 clove garlic chopped
- 4 oz lean minced beef
- ¼ pint water
- 1 tablespoon tomato puree
- Marjoram or oregano
- Diced mushrooms
- Spaghetti
- Grated parmesan cheese
Method
Using medium sized pan add the vegetable oil and heat up.
Add the diced onion and garlic and cook for 4-5 minutes (cook without colour). Add the beef and cook, colouring lightly.
Add ¼ pt boiling water, tomato puree and herbs to the beef and simmer until tender. Add the mushrooms and simmer for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile cook the spaghetti for 12-15 minutes until soft. Drain well in a colander.
Arrange spaghetti on plate with bolognaise in the middle of the plate. Add grated parmesan cheese can be sprinkled on top, if desired.
