Beef Goulash
Ingredients
- 1¼ lb lean stewing steak
- 1 oz flour
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 onion peeled and thinly sliced
- ¼ pint stock
- 14 oz/400g can tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon tomato puree
- 4 oz peas
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2-3 tablespoons fromage frais
- Salt and pepper
Method
Dice meat, brown with the oil in a non stick pan. Coat the browned meat with flour. Remove from pan and sauté, sliced onion until soft.
Return meat to pan and add stock, tomatoes and puree. Cover and simmer for 1¾hours.
Add peas, paprika and seasoning 10 minutes towards end of cooking.
Remove from heat, stir in fromage frais and serve with vegetables and new potatoes.
